THE HANDRYN EMPIRE CAMPAIGNS

The Handryn Empire is a series of campaigns set in a custom fantasy world, which utilizes content from D&D 5th edition, and also incorporates an array of homebrew races, classes, monsters, and magic items. Each of the following stories takes place in one of the Empire's five kingdoms.

CALICO NATION

Retham - a confederation of necessity formed from the disparate tribes of the sunscorched deserts - was formed during the Outsiders War, and its rulers have struggled to maintain its hard-won unity. SHADOWVEIL

The lands of Doras Tanaí are so steeped in fey magic that the blending of the Material and the Feywild is like unto a perfect synthesis of oil and water. Trouble is to be expected, in a nation where the fey folk walk alongside mortals - only, now, trouble has come to the fey, rather than from, as evidenced by the scores of new fairy lights dotting the shadowed woods.

SPELL SLAYER

In the Kingdom of Norfal, it's illegal to cast so much as a cantrip without a permit; but at the lofty price 1,000g every year, that is a luxury that most mages can't afford. Worse still, mages who dare to cast without a permit in secret run the risk of disappearing, never to be seen or heard from again. What could be happening to them? Is there foul play afoot?

Spell Slayer takes place in a kingdom with a series of strict regulations regarding the use of magic, along with a laundry list of harsh punishments for mages that violate those laws. Many common folk view spellcasters as menaces to society, whether or not they abide by the government's regulations. After all, people are afraid of what they do not understand.

A frightened individual can be reasoned with. A frightened mob, on the other hand...

TERRA SERUM

For the people of the sprawling mountains of Steinmor, the world is an oyster; every dead-end an opportunity, every natural limitation an excuse to construct something greater than oneself. Though, one can only be so productive when nature insists upon fighting back.

UPON THE GEARS

Long ago, the boreal domain of Treyla housed a goblinoid nation, who hunted the humans that opposed them like animals. Human tendency to improve upon the technology of warfare, and to forge alliances out of diverse communities, is what won them their foothold in the world - but this did not destroy the goblinoids. And they have never stopped considering Treyla their rightful home.
